oil dip stick leak

so i have the notorious oil dipstick leak on my excursion. i am going to do the oring fix and see if that works. i was wondering if some one knew what size viton oring i need for that, i can get orings through work so it would be easier to do that.

thanks in advance

Where does it leak from? Is that common on the f series?

its leaking from the nut area on rhe oil pan side of thw dipstick. not the dipstick tube. its rhe largwr oring that tends ro expand and not eal correctly. it seamed super loose so i lightly tightened the nut, caredul to not ovwr tighten and warp the oring seat.

Common on the 7.3L.

It's a 2" nut, but not sure about the o-ring exactly.

Swamps Diesel apparently welds the fitting onto the oil pan to fix the leak.

This is the kit that Dieselorings sells. You could e-mail Bob and see if he knows what size that o-ring is.

thank you, i contacted both diesel orings and riffraff, both places do not have the size for the orings. diesel orings gave me an estimate .5 in oring and 2in oring for the ones but that doesnt help too much.

I used this when mine was literally hemorrhaging oil. It’s not cheap but it’s been on for a year without issues.

1 year after installing it, still dry.

If it's not leaking too bad, some here have gotten away with a good cleaning and then slathering the whole thing with the oil pan RTV. I replaced my o-ring awhile ago but every now and then the nut loosens a bit and it leaks a slightly.
