Got all my seals and gaskets in today. The Intermidiate shaft oil seal comes with a large o ring in the bag too. Seems like I remember this years ago when i took all this part. I can say i really do not know where the large o ring goes. The other two shafts i have inherited ( when in took them part) have no o rings in them. Think 14 yrs ago i just did not use it. ANY suggestions where this O ring goes???

"Pic's worth a thousand...

if it's the 1 that has a double lip (like a "C" around the cercumferiential edge) I believe its the 1way down on the base of the spud shaft, below the bering. Another goes round the base of the yoke where it enters the housing. I never looked at the other as have not torn the whole thing down to swap spuds for my NV3550 swap.

The "O" ring goes in the lill grove, fat end of the spud frm the splined end.

If you'd like U can C a vid on this aspect (swap a spud) I followed on my swap (2nd or 3rd vid in a 7 prt series) by oneada EB prts houses that sell the Advance Adapters. There R also a few on an EB transfer tear dwn & rebuild.

standard o ring 4 inches across. only thing it seems to fit to me is the part of the intermediate housing that goes into the T case..just to big for anything else.

I went over a D-20 Rebuild on the 4wheel off road magazine on line site. Been getting their mag for many yrs. Kind of like their mag but wonder where they come up with the money to do their builds. Spent close to 30 grand on the M-715 build. Thing is really showing its age but the last 10 yrs have been hard on it. BUT THE ENGINE IS STILL GREAT.

Took some time away from this project AND had one of the input shaft bearings fall out so had to take the RAT apart 2 weeks ago. But it. Is all installed and working great. Think my Hurst shifter has seen its better days though. Have a RAN and a RAT ( rat for parts only) plus a D20 and 2 inter. Housings plus parts for all if anyone may need it.

I have seen them on a couple of early Bronco vendors. I know Brncograveyard has them.
