Well Gents, I bought a new Ford on Sunday. I sold my Fusion Energi to my brother on Sat and bought a Focus Electric on Sunday. So far so good. It's rated at 115 miles of range, but I'm getting about 95 based on how fast I drive. Out the door with all taxes and fees, but with the incentives the cost is just over $19k. The stated goal for this car is to bridge me over until Ford pulls their heads out and offer a GOOD, not even great, electric car.

Congratulations on your purchase.Never owned an electric car. Apparently there are too few charging stations in Fresno, at least according to the Smart car owner I talked to.

Thanks Jim. Most people charge at home these days since the range is so good. Even when my range degrades over time, I can still charge at work and home.

Just curious, do they charge for the charge at those charging stations? Wow, that was a mouthful...

Happy thirsty Thursday Nor Cal. Hope everyone can stay out of the heat. Unfortunately for me, I have a doctor's appointment at 3:30pm so I will be out in it. And the AC in my car has not yet been fixed, so it is going to be very uncomfortable.

I've actually been playing around at the jewelry hobby lately.
I used my new Oxy-Acetylene jeweler's torch for the first time, I like it better than the other soldering torches I've got. I got it for Christmas, but I've been busy doing other things. I want to upgrade to the next size up on the welding torch. I've got some small welding projects in mind.
I've been trying to avoid using the truck until I get some more parts for it. I think i blew out the exhaust doughnut at the left exhaust manifold. I also want to replace the speedometer cable (again).
Our weather's been in yo-yo mode - the temperatures keep going up and down.

One of my buds got a lease on a Leaf almost 3 years ago. For him, it's perfect. His round-trip commute is perhaps 8 miles (4 each way). He plugs it in every few days at home. He NEVER goes to a gas station. The lease was a killer deal. He's paying ~~ $80/month on the lease, and he put nothing down. Dang car is costing him less than his cell phone.

Looking forward to it, but giving out good feelings (prayers) for the Firefighters here locally. We have several fires with evacuations going with high temperatures and wind.

I've got a feeling, it's going to be a long, hot summer.

Well, the current Talley is somewhere North of 6000 acres and no word on total damage.
