Nope tail gate is 67 and up. 64 to 66 tail gate does not have the bead around the Ford lettering and lettering is different

Here is what a 1964-66 tailgate looks like.

You are right! Thanks for the info. What size tires and rims you have on your truck? Thanks

September 1966: Ford replaced this 1964/66 tailgate with the 1967/72 F100/350 tailgate for use as a "service part replacement." All the mounting parts are exactly the same.

Well, there is "Something Going On Here"!!
The tailgate on the OP's truck has the smaller letters & the Bead going 360 degrees around the lettering, but the 67-72 tailgates had a BEAD line (that is approx 80% of the width) across the gate above the latch assembly, while the '64-'66 gates had a Stepped profile line.....

So, the OP's truck seem to have some kind of HYBRID tailgate?? (or someone has taken the good bits from both a '64-'66 gate & a '67-72 gate and pieced it all together??)

The OP's truck

Below is a "Stock" Bumpside gate, notice the bead??

and a stock Slick gate

Doug: Wasn't trying to pick the truck apart or be critical (and I'd rather have a solid, rust free bump gate than a rusty slick gate), just making observations based off what I know, and trying to figure out how this gate came to have elements of both Slick & Bumpside end gates.

Cheers!

Might be sections of two gates that were both rusty at one time. 1966 upper and 1967+ middle. The lower would be hard to tell one from the other.

Chad: As mentioned in my first post, that's my guess as well, but the only way to determine the real deal is to strip that tailgate to bare metal, and I don't think Doug is on board with that
