Level VS Lift, tires and wheels
I'm trying to decide if I should go with a 2" level or a 4" lift. Ive read all of the level/lift threads, but most people just talk about their lifts, however wheels and tires play into it too! Essentially it comes down to either a level with 33" tires on 18" wheels, or a lift with wither 33s on 18s or 35s on 20s. What do you think? Bonus for pictures with a description of what you've got.
The lift kit I've chosen says factory 18s won't fit, and you'll need either 18x9 or larger with at least 5.5" backspacing. I'm terrible at offset and backspacing, but I believe the wheels I've chosen are compatible.
My options are:
2" Level
Level: 2" Rough Country (or equivalent)
Wheels: Method 309, 18x9, 5.75BS (or similar)
Tires: 33" AT tires, brand/model TBD
4" lift
Lift 4" BDS Lift
Wheels: Method 309, 18x9, +18 offset, 5.75BS (or similar) OR Method 309 20x9 +18 offset, 5.75BS (or similar)
Tires: 33" AT tires OR 35" AT tires

33s will be too small with the 4” lift. You can go 34” with a 2.25” level and keep the stock wheels if you want.
I have 34.3” Toyo Open Country AT II tires on the factory 18” wheels. No rubbing at all.

BDS is a nice lift. Method wheels are a good choice too.

Tbis looks interesting, but I haven’t seen any reviews on it yet.

It all boils down to a personal choice. Some like the lift kit and some are satisfied with a leveling kit. I guess part of the choice is first deciding what size tires you want. Personally I'm satisfied with a 2" Rough Country leveling kit on my 2018 F-150 Platinum FX4 with stock tires and wheels.

I don't see where it says "cutting" per say, however the "trimming may be required" will most likely refer to your inner wheel liners and/or some minor edges on your bumper. You could experience some tire rub at full lock or while "flexing" for those must have tucked tuesday IG posts

Check out custom offsets website, they have tons of pics that you can narrow by model, lift/level size, wheel & tire size. I'm running a level kit with factory wheels & tires now but eventually planning for 33s on 18". I love the look of 6" lift with 35s but the cost and don't want to sacrifice ride quality either.

@wgotthardt , I do like those wheels. Wonder if they're available in 18"?
