My 74 F250 has been converted to R134A. I just checked the pressure readings and got
20 low side 250 high side at 1500 RPM, 85 degrees outside air, high humidity. All
of the AC parts were replaced last year and I really really flushed the system. Now
to the question. The factory shop manual says I'm at perfect levels, however an R134A
chart I have says I should be at 50/250. R134A is different than R12.
Who is right, and do I have a problem. ???????
I don't have charts anymore and have not done AC for years but with that temp and humidity seems like numbers are a little low. If it's working good may be ok. What happens to numbers when rpm is at road speed?
Are you still running the York or was it replaced with a Sanden?
I'm in the process of converting mine over to R134A and have planned on using the York if it's still good. I'm not quite sure how to test it, or what a good pressure reading on it is supposed to be. I know off roaders like to use them for air compressors on the trails.
I'm using a York from Advance Auto. Kinda wish I had known about Sanden when I did it. The York
is sure noisy but I wanted to stay original. Checked again today and at 84 degrees outside the Temp.
at the vent inside was 48. I plan to add a little 134a and keep an eye on it.
