NEW SMELL AFTER EXHAUST RECALL
Had the recall done a while back...almost seemed worse. Seems like they turned the AC off under hard acceleration for the reprogram. Now 2013 XLT 90000 miles come to traffic light AC on fresh..smell terrible rotten egg. So bad called the Gas Company because I thought it was a gas leak in the neighborhood. Now put it on re-circulation and no smell. Guess it's back to the Dealer. Anyone else experience that?

My 2014 still gets the exhaust smell after it has been to the dealer for the new exhaust pipes with down turns, resealing the rear gate and some other re-call program. I only have 25k miles on it. It only does it when the AC stops when getting up tp speed on the Interstate on ramps. I have tried it with the AC on or off re-circulation or rear AC on or off. It has to be something to do with the aero dynamics of the design. I plan on trading it in for a new Ranger. I am going to write to Ford about the problem. But I am not going to hold my breath for a reply on that letter.

I would be willing to bet this is not an exhaust issue but actually the PTU issue...
I am now needing a second PTU for this smell. The first was replaced under extended warranty. Now, 20K later, and directly after some maintenance, now the smell is back. And I mean, as soon as we picked it up from it being worked on. Pisses me off.
