E40D TO ZF5 7.3 WIRING DIAGRAM

HI, i am looking for a wiring diagram for the zf5 speed swap. I have a 96 f350 7.3DIT with e40d. My parts truck is a 94 idi with 5 speed. i saved the wiring off of the 5speed to use on the 96. i would also like to use the auto pcm. thanks

I did the exact swap with a idi to my 7.3 powerstroke about 1.5 yrs ago. I kept my auto pcm and used my auto harness, I left the transmission range selector switch on the truck and left it in the neutral or park position and it starts by the key, you just loose your cruise control. Or you can un hook the transmission range selector and just jump the wires for neutral or park together. I did cut plug ins for backup and 4x4 lights off the manual harness and wired them up, and they work fine.

Any ideas on if there is a way to keep the cruise?

no idea really. I thought if you put a toggle switch in the truck for the 2 wires that put the truck in park to start by the key, and once it is started by the key, flip it off and have another toggle switch for the 2 wires that put it in drive. I haven't tried this. No idea if it would work. The wires I'm talking about are on the transmission range selector switch. Hope this makes sense.

Jarrett Campbell is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
You could use just one DPDT switch and it should work the same as what you described with two switches.

I think it would work, because with the transmission range selector switch in park to start by the key, the pcm thinks the truck is still in park while your actually driving so ur cruise won't work in pwrk. But once the switch is flipped to drive, boom cruise should work. I'm just afraid that once it's flipped to drive that it might burn something up.

Wouldn't it just be easier to reprogram the pcm?
