THE fix for sagging door handles!

Hello everyone! I recently made a video documenting what goes into fixing the door latches to make saggy or droopy handles not sag or droop. I didn't really think about posting it here until someone left a comment on my YouTube about how every 48-52 owner should watch the video, so here it is:

There are a few other videos on the building of this particular '50 F-1 as well, so feel free to have a look and consider subscribing. I'm not quite done with the truck, but I'm not far off, so there will be a few more videos as the weeks pass by.

Thanks, and I hope this helps some folks get their handles squared away!!

Well done! Very clear step by step instruction, should be a big help to all those F1 owners who are tired of drooping handles. Hope you stick around the FTE forum and maybe you could document some of the "fixes" that other members have done but aren't so adept with the camera.

I found your tutorial very informative. Not knowing any better at the time, I just twisted the handle shaft to get them level,. I do have new handles on a shelf and will get around to reviving the mechanism properly in time. Your video will come in very handy, I appreciate you making and posting it here on FTE.

Nice....how about making a video of installing the 51-52 bright metal windshield trim or vent window glass replacement!

Thank you! I'll be around for a bit. I'm going to post a build thread of my '50 as soon as I can get the time to sit for a while. I'm currently in a whirlwind of fabrication trying to get it ready for a big show on June 3rd.

You are very welcome! I hope the video helps many others as well.

I only have my '50 at the moment, and I installed 1-piece windows in it...so I won't be much help there. I have a set of vent windows in my storage unit, but I don't know if they are the ones I removed from the '50, or the ones from my '57 Chevy truck.

I actually have a '51 cab, but it will be built into a full rat rod, because the cab really is junk, and I have no other parts besides a core support and a tailgate. I will have to make about 90% of the window channel and cowl from scratch, as it's all rusted away, and I'll do a video on that.

Few different good posts here on the problem, too bad they disappear. Did this one awhile ago, can be repaired with a cheap mig welder.

Nice video

I wish my latches were in that kind of shape...LOL
I had to add a lot of metal to a lot of pieces to get them back into a workable shape.
