Headers 2000 Explorer Sport
2000 Explorer Sport, 4x4, 4.0 SOHC 120,000 miles
Headers need replaced.
How hard are they to do?
Do studs normally snap off?
Orielly wants $230 (only local parts store,) for OEM type see stainless steel ones on ebay for $125 shipped?
Brand recommendations?

Any time you mess with the exhaust on a Ford, it's a challenge. Japanese cars seem to come apart much easier. I took the heads off my 4.0 Aerostar. I didn't have a problem removing the nuts that held the manifold to the head. The problem I had was at the manifold/exhaust pipe. I had to cut those bolts off (I don't have an impact wrench) on both side and remove them once the manifold was off. You won't need to remove the bolts stuck in the manifold since you're replacing the manifolds. If you decide to do this, lots of penetrating oil and patience are required.
