Side Windows

I'm replacing all the glass in my truck. I'm looking at the one piece side windows. they come in a kit with weather striping and are cheaper than the regular glass and buying the weather strip separate. I do like the vent window but i'm looking at cost. Has any body used them Good / Bad ?.

I've been going back and forth on these myself. I like the look but also like the vent window original look too. Does this kit have a rubber weather strip or felt?

The kits show the channel around the glass and the felts that go across the top of the doors. It eliminates the rubber weather strip at vent window. With the parts I need for mine the one piece glass save about $100.00 per side. Still waiting for some input on someone that has done it to this style cab.

I may want to go this route but I didn't see anything in his post. Did I miss something?

Below is a quote from a thread on the HAMB regarding this same subject.

I'm sorry that I didn't see your post earlier. I did the Sac Ford 1 piece window kit on my 57 F100. I love the look of it and now that it has broken in a little the windows work great. I wouldn't say they are EASY to put in though. You have to use a hack saw down into the window opening to cut out a channel for the window to sit. It is super tight and hard to do. If your truck is painted like mine was I would suggest LOTS of masking tape to protect the paint. The only other thing is the brackets they give you to hold the bottom of the channel were kinda cheesy so I made my own that bolted to the tab that the original window stop bolted. If you have some mechanical ability they are not hard to install though. No welding unless you make your own brackets. I think it was worth the money. Those trucks have very small factory windows and I LOVE having the 1 piece. Hope this helps.
I thought I remember seeing an article somewhere that sort of detailed this, but I can't find it, so it is possible I was thinking of something else.

I am interested as well, but love the nostalgic look of the vent windows.

Jeff

I go back and forth between the 1 piece and the vents too. To me it depends on the look you are going for. The 1 piece are more custom looking to me where the vents keep the stock look. I have wondered if the 1 piece have a better weather seal.
