2016 Lariet Black seat torn
I have a 2016 Ford F-350 6.7 Lariet 49K with Black leather seats. I was getting into the truck today and noticed on the side of the leather tear. It doesn’t look like anything ripped it. It looks like the leather was giving away. I called Ford and they said it wasn’t under warranty because I was over the 36K warranty. I did add the Simone’s Glass Coat the covers the paint and interior from raiding or staining. That doesn’t cover it either. Is anyone out there having the same problems with there interior? I would have thought the interior would lasted a lot longer then this.

I thought the same thing! I was 290 and dropped down to 251. I don’t use the handle coming out of the truck. It is horizontal. I think it’s from sitting on the seat and the leather hit the plastic along side of the seat. It’s not a killer tear but I don’t want it ripping open.

My Lariat leather had wear tears in the on both my 2011 and 2015 trucks by time I hit 90,000 miles on those trucks.
I guess it is cause by the seat flexing in the same spot .
It's one of the reasons I bought a platinum for 2017, in hopes that it might have better leather. But I discovered a new tear my new truck at 2500 miles. It's on the opposite side from your on the drivers hip by the seat belt buckle. Took it into Ford and they would not warranty it, Said I must have cut it.
So after being pissed off for a bit, I decided I just order a new seat cover from Ford Parts, I decided to buy one now and just put it on the shelf. At least I can match the Brunello color now and not hope I can in 3 years. I'll let the tear be until it becomes an eyesore. Being between my hip and the console it's out of sight. If the outer edge of the seat becomes worn first, I can change it out for that reason. My biggest complaint with the truck interiors is the drivers leather seat and the steering wheel both show wear by 100,000 miles.
I checked with several replacement leather seat companies. Companies that claim they sell seat covers that match your OEM leather. None of them had replacement covers for the newer Ford trucks. 2010 and older only. Said there was not enough demand yet for the 2011 and newer to justify laser cutting patterns to fit the new seats.
I bought the replacement OEM Leather Cushion Cover from online Ford parts for $150, When the time comes, I'll just swap out the driver seat cover. My passenger and back seat get used so little, that they always still look great at 100,000 miles. So hopefully this will keep my truck looking better as it rolls over 100,000 miles.

Any upholstery shop can fix that in less the 20 mins. I had something similar happen to my boat seat once. I took it to a boat upholstery shop and they had it repaired in less then 20 mins plus it was only 15 dollars out of my wallet. First time something that cheap on the boat so I always remember that one..............LOL
