I have a 1997 ford f250 hd I started it one day to charge the ac. I left the truck idling to get cool inside. when i came back out it was not running and would not start. i then checked the fuel pressure and it was fine. the only thing wrong is the injectors are not giving the engine fuel. If i give it a little shot of fuel in the breather it starts as long as i keep spraying it runs, what could cause this?
When you first turn the key to run, do you have the wait to start light? If not Check fuse 22 in the under hood fuse panel. If blown, unplug the fuel heater and replace fuse. Fuse #22, and #8 supply power to the IDM and PCM.
Thanx allot, it lead me to a screen that was totally clogged. I cleaned it and cranked the motor and got a puff of white smoke, the battery was to low to crank again so I have it on charge...fingers crossed.
I'd also check the oil level in the High Pressure Oil Pump. I had mine mysteriously go empty once and it creates a no fuel, no start condition. All you have to do is remove the plug on top, or the sensor which acts as a plug, check the level and refill if necessary.
