Cleveland area? I need a hand with my 5.4 2v's plugs/coils

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...s-on-a-2v.html

First plug came out okay (#1, passenger side front plug), but the new coil doesn't want to seat properly on a new plug. I'm a bit concerned that I might be missing something. Is there anyone in the Cleveland area with a 2v that's gone through the process before and can lend their wisdom so I do the coils/plugs correctly? I've watched just about every Youtube video out there on the subject, compared old and new coils/plugs and it's still not adding up.

thanks,
Travis

Are you on the West Side of CLE? If so, maybe call Mark @ North Shore Performance...440-331-9860. He's done a couple of 5.4 plug & C-O-P replacements.

The 2 valve plugs will come out ok. There not the ones that stick in that is the 3 valve problems with the 2 valve is spitting them out. On the coils there is a spring in them so it dont feel like there seated right. I put them on and tighten the 8mm bolt down and it should be good to go.

Yes, I know they come out without any fuss.

Yes, they come out fine. It's just a matter of getting to them. Anyone in the area with firsthand experience able to lend a hand?

After a lot of stuff going on, I revisited the tune-up. #2, #3 and #4 coils are out now, I'm stuck on plug #4. It's like there's ZERO ROOM to get tools in place. What's the magic trick for it? Or better yet, show me the trick here in person and I got $25 for you.

#5-8 seem like a breeze compared to this. This makes me miss my RX-7 with how simple and straightforward it is,

Go back and watch the videos, as I remember he goes over the tools that worked.

Can Dr Spark Plug make a house call?

Bad news. #3 was repaired with a threaded insert before and it tore in half on removing the plug (rusted onto the plug, distorted from overtorque by Hestons in Lancaster). Now a plug won't thread back in. With all of the experience of FTE, and the amazing goodwill of the community, is there anyone in the Cleveland area that can help me out ASAP by making a house call to fix this for cheap? I don't like asking for help, but I'm completely dead in the water right now and unable to work as a result. Because of that, I'm damn near flat broke too :/

I just need to be able to put a plug in there, nothing fancy. Not asking for a handout, a hand UP. Bring a flash drive and I'll make it WELL worth your time/effort.

Best to go to some of the smaller local shops and talk with them and see if they have or know someone to meet your needs. A new thread insert can be put in again but I do suggest someone that has preformed this on damaged and previously repaired hole.

It got fixed. Insert came out on the plug, was a M16x1.5 thread one. No damage to the cylinder head. Found the same kind at Oreilly auto parts for $15. Simple, cheap fix

Glad to hear that. If it all comes out then as you found a new insert will work.
