460 swap from motorhome
Hey guys,
looking for some advice, there is a 79 motorhome locally here for less than $1000 with running 460 and c6.
im looking for an engine/ trans combo to put into my 76 f100 short box and wondering how suitable this would be. Finding another actual 460 dentside up here in Halifax is nearly impossible.
im wondering how much, if anything is transferrable between the chassis’. Specifically rad, any electrical and accessory drives and brackets, the motorhome appears to be an E chassis, more van like than the pickups. Pickup is non ac, original inline 6 thats has a 351w swapped into it. Hopes would be to use the 351 for the foxbody and go big block in the pickup.
let me know, thanks

More than likely, it's a Class C motorhome body mounted on an E350 Cut-Away.
Cut-Away is a cargo van body cut off behind the front seats so that box van, ambulance, Class C motorhome and people mover bodies can be installed.
You cannot use any of the Econoline 460 motor/trans mounting parts, as they won't work on an F series truck. The radiator is also different.
1979 460 could be an internal or external balance. External balance has a weighted crank spacer, the block casting number is D9TE-6015-AB
Internal balance block casting number is D1VE-6015-AB or A1B or A2B
