Hi all. I picked up this transmission as part of a package deal at a swap meet last week. The guy I bought it from said it was an SMOD, and he was going to install it in his '77 F100 (2wd 300) in order to give it an overdrive instead of a granny. The deal I made will pay for itself (ignore the price sticker, I didn't pay that), so I thought I'd see if the guy was telling the truth and it was even usable in our trucks. Can anyone here tell me for certain exactly what this trans is and what vehicle it was pulled from? It looks like a car toploader to me but without exposed shift linkage.
I have more pics if needed. The identification tag says: RUG EM CO31

Do you happen to know if this is the same RUG trans used in F100 trucks? I'm curious if it would bolt up to a 300 six without modifications.
1978/79 F100/150 use a different shift lever and linkage than 1980/83 F100/150. See pic below:
Compare this pic with the car pic in post #3 which is similar to 1980/83 F100/150. Car/1980/83 F100/150: Notice that the shift lever fits into the 7F305 extension
