Cargo Capacity for 2002 Excursion 4x4 7.3
I have a 2002 4x4 Excursion with 7.3 diesel. I removed the back seat and plan to put as many 20 lb pavers as I can without being dangerous. All the weight charts I look at seem to focus on trailer towing. I am not using a trailer. It has rancho's adjustable shocks and cooper all terrain tires. Any body know the weight I can carry in the cargo area?

Thanks Pete, I appreciate the answer.
So, I found out GVWR is 9,200. Last time I was on a scale the truck weighed about 8000 lbs (its true). That leaves me 1200 lbs to work with. I (me and my gut) eat almost 20% of that. (no pun intended).
We moved the pavers before I did the computation. They put 130 twenty pound pavers in the cargo area adding 2,600 lbs. Which is way over the recommendation. We made it safe, thank the Lord, and it actually drove find and the engine acted as if there was no load at all. It was way down in the back, but the front wheels stayed on the ground. I guess we were lucky. But we wont do that again.
