Who Actively Tunes An EEC4 With A Moates Quarterhorse?
Recently completed an mass air conversion on a 94 5.8/E4OD using the successor to a HOG0 (F4TF-12A650-AAA)
The ECU that I used is a refurbished unit by an unknown company that carries engineering numbers F4TF-12A650-AAB and was identified by Bill K/Subford as a "MUT1"
Note the "SMD-221 following the eng #
According to Moates support site, this is at least in the supported hardware list.
94-95 (ish) Mass-Air trucks with E40D Electronic Transmission VEX1 WAY1 HOG0 U4X0 « Moates Support
My primary desire is trans programming first & am I SOL period, till I get a HOG0?
Somebody got a screen shot example of such so I could maybe decide if I want to chase this rabbit down it's hole?
Anybody got a TCI of what they're into using QH?
Thanks for any input in the antique black arts of EEK4.

Nothing really. Can't invest in something with no real knowledge that the expenditure will yield results.
I did score a original labeled (most re-builders strip all Ford labels) HOG0 from Rock & Cardone.
Missed getting a cheap dyno run this summer to gauge the change from SD to MAF.
I clicked on the link above & my virus protection had a fit.
Tried a different approach a time or two & the same result.
Hell, it's a hobby.
Gotta' take what you can, when sun, moon, stars, available cash & the support of a loving spouse who doesn't give me grief over my money pit,...um... truck align.

Well if somebody stumbles through here & takes pity, could you please answer ONE question at least?
What PC operating system does any of this run on "now" & will it run on 10?
Since this page seems to be unchanged since 10's introduction:

you have an ahac2 ecu, go to EFIDynoTuning and click on downloads you can download the FREE custom tuning software, along with your ahac2 xdf and you can download the stock tunes to look over along with a custom base tune you can download as well
I've tuned several hundred of those with no problems at all.

The HOG0 I have now is supported by Moates, the questions I still have is what is a reasonable expenditure going Moates & is the software Windows 10 compatible before I sink the cash & basically have to learn to code.
I'm exploring every sequential system (that has some sort of user programming & timing control) out there right now along with trans controllers, both stand alone & communicable.
If I'm going to spend the cash, I might just have get some sort of new in a box & support to make it work right.
I've got an engine & trans that are leaving a lot on the table.

There are many ECU's in that family that can be tuned the same. I used an AKC0 SCT database to tune an HOG0 94 F-150 because it had more parameters to work with. The HOG0 database was very limited. I would think you would be able to do the same with other tuning platforms and with ECU's of the same breed.

As you're now aware, there are much more modern/capable options for tuning these trucks now (see sig) and it's all compatible with the newest versions of Windows. Best of all, it comes with free support where any questions you have will absolutely get answered in a timely fashion, and there is an active community of individuals with similar vehicles to you using the same thing that keep the support channel active and useful.

Yeah, it doesn't let me start my own thread about this stuff in any section other than the vendor's section but I can reply to other people's threads that ask about our products or have questions about subjects our products are relevant to. I really wanted to make a new thread in the 86-95 F-series section but I guess it's not going to happen.
