I'm running a 1976 Ford f-250 with a 1969 360 in it with wide open stock manifolds that I haven't started yet and I'm looking for the loudest sound possible with out headers. How loud are stock cast iron manifolds? Loud enough going down the road that everyone will hear them?
I run stock manifolds with 2 1/4 pipe to 2 thrush mufflers on each side, they dump out before the rear axle. I didn't do it, I don't really like it, but its loud as hell. Shakes the entire house when I'm warming it up in the morning. Super quiet when your infront of the truck, but you feel it in your chest when you go around back. It sounds alright, I want to redo the down pipes since the PO welded everything in there stiff, also want so cut outs with quiet mufflers.
Stock manifolds with duals & low cost straight thru glass packs will make plenty of noise. Whether you, your friends and neighbors like it is another question.

I hate glass packs with a passion! Might as well just buy the cheapo thrush mufflers for $20 to save your self the embarrassment.
It's the last day of school of Friday And I'm gonna fire it tomorrow and bring it to school! I cant wait I just want it really loud!! I have wide open manifolds right now but I'm gonna run about 2 feet of pipe with turn down it should be nice and loud I think hey?
Jeez Louise! Weren't y'all young once? If it's just for the last day of school or a little longer, then just let the kid have some fun!
Especially if it will disrupt the school!
My first truck was a 75 f250 with a 390, long tube headers , short glass packs ( just enough to be able to say it has mufflers , & about 4 ft of pipe that exited under the drivers door on both sides . That thing was loud ! That was 15 years ago when I was just a teen .
Current truck has stock manifolds , long glass packs, and exhaust that exits just before the rear wheel. It’s pretty tame and I’m fine with that 😂
