I've got a replacement FICM, so that's covered. I figured it was the PCM missing, damn. The fuel filter bowl has been disassembled partially, and the fuel pump itself is filled with debris.

Here's what else I found, including the fuel pump, and parts to the fuel filter bowl:

There's rust at one of the inlets to the water pump, so that really concerns me too as far as how the inside of the motor looks:

This guy totally hosed this thing, and my buddy ain't happy. Y'all should see the interior...

I don't have a 100% 6.0 around that I can park next to it to compare, so I'm gonna have to rely on searching the web for photos.

Is there a good manual that has detailed photos of what things should look like?

I have all of the intake tubes. They're in the back of the cab.

So looking at it again, it looks as though the water pump housing itself is part of the front cover...

The thermostat housing is part of the front cover but the pump is bolted on. Your going to fight hell with the rust in the engine. Couple options would be to flush with VC-9 to help break the rust and scale loose and continue to flush until the oil coolers plugged then buy a cheap cooler and run that for a little while and install a flow flow coolant filter. Then once you feel confident that the rust has been trapped and removed then get an OEM cooler.
You will also need a VGT solenoid because the one on the ground is junk.

Alright, got that on the list. I'm going to bring my snake cam and see if I can take a look inside and see if it's further in the block.

Either way, I think that front cover needs to come off so I can take a look underneath. It's my understanding that this is also the cover for the oil pump, so should I drain whatever is in the truck first before pulling that cover off?

The low pressure pump is in the front cover behind the crank dampener. The high pressure pump is on the rear on the engine on top behind the turbo. It would be wise to inspect the pump and make sure the STC fitting has been updated. I would bet that the IPR valve on the pump is missing because I think the wires were laying on the DS valve cover.

You mean the red and yellow coming from the battery terminal?

This truck did have some "deletion" work done, so I'm not sure what all that entails for this particular motor.

Okay! That makes more sense. Thank you.

I'm getting a parts list together to order what I know for sure what we need.

Any idea what that magneto looking thing is with that spring wound circuit in one of my photos? Or is that not even for this truck?

The spring wound thing I think is the blower motor resistor I’m guessing. The round thing couldn’t tell you maybe check the HVAC system.

Looks like I've got my work cut out for me.

There's a part number on that ring, so I'll just run it and see what comes up when I'm up there.

Here is a PDF for removing the intake manifold. I had a lot of PDF’s saved but after the FTE updates some of the links are broken but I’ll keep looking.
