Ah, gotcha. I'll be honest, I didn't think there would be a paint that would hold up.

I was thinking about that. The paint would probably not work well because they flex. It's not the binding, or traffic. If it was that there are ways around that. The flexing, though, small as it may be, I would think would cause the paint to crack.

If I do decide to go the paint route, there's a special primer coat that is basically "adhere to anything". I used it on my bathroom floor, which was tile. Didn't need to rough it up at all. After 2 coats of that, I put garage floor paint down, for a nice grey, and it stuck to that primer coat flawlessly. Constant foot traffic has not been an issue at all.

I’m pulling the plastic ones off and installing some quality steel ones from Bumperdude.com. For lights I will run Epoxy encased LED strips mounted in aluminum channel. One 12” strip over each step wired in from the stock wires.

I tried to paint my tan ones black last week. Not happy with result even though I used adhesion promoter and special paint etc. Already chipping.

Someone out there has to have a nice set of black lighted ones out there. I sure would appreciate any help.

I have a set of black molded running boards I would be willing to sell. Not sure how bad shipping would be though.

I don't think you have enough posts for me to send you a private message, so kindly provide more details on condition etc.

John, he can't PM but you'll have to go to email swapping with him to do the deal. Selling transactions can't be done in the tech forums.

Sorry no I don't have enough post to do PM's yet. Any idea how many I need before I can do that?
The running boards are in good shape. No cracks or visable fading. They are from an 03 Limited. Shipping would come from 57301 if that gives you an estimate of how far they would have to go for shipping rates.

5 posts and 10 days registered before a user can PM.

However, you guys can email each other using the link provided on every users public profile page, if so enabled.

Click the user name of the person you want to email. From the drop down menu that pops up, choose "Public Profile" then click the tab marked "Social Profiles" and choose the email link.

My above instructions would have netted you an email sent via the FTE system, like I did when I emailed you, using my above listed instructions. You left a Visitor Message on sodakcat's public profile, which can be seen by anyone who clicks on his Public Profile link, just FYI.

Parts vehicle with running board for sale. Click Here

The link below shows vehicles listed with running boards for sale. The second listing from "Eastern Auto Salvage" is a good company to work with, I've been to his private lot, he's all business, and has several Excursions on the lot.
