ending up buying Motorcraft. factories made it over 175k.....unless they have been changed before, but I doubt it

didnt order the sleeves though, may regret that. Started soaking them in Kroil today, thankfully not too rusty

Can’t go wrong with motorcraft.

i doubt they went 175, 75-100 is more typical

Anyone know the castle nut size? Or am I just supposed to reuse old ones? I don't see why I couldn't. Cotter pins too, are they 1/8 or 3/16" since i know for sure i need them

not home today to check but want to buy what i need to do this tomorrow

Aftermarket joints always come with new nuts & cotters, don't know about OE.

Im finding m14-1.50 in the manual but the part number doesn't work

N800895-S301 Castellated Nut M14-1.5....Was looking to replace my tie rod ends, but ended up just needing the ball joints. (I may do them later down the road)

Thats the number i found, but online that doesnt seem to exist.

The castle nuts i have do seem a tad short

Local dealer has all 4 coming tomorrow, will post updated part numbers, no idea of cost, guessing a lot

Any reason to worry that the drag link that connects to the pitman arm almost looks like it's painted black but the other 3 are just dark gray steel???? All came in legit looking motorcraft boxes that were still stapled closed

My originals went 180K (probably should have replaced them a bit earlier but they were still decent when I retired them). Replaced with OEM and still going with 130K on them.

No reason to worry. It could just be a different supplier. They could be sourcing that part from another maufacturer or it may have changed over the years (who knows when that part was actually made). It may be the same Motorcraft part number made to the same spec but it may not be the same manufacturer.

Here are the new part number for the castle nuts

pitman arm and both tierods share same nuts/covers
lower drag link is a single castle nut
