Ground taillight question

if I have everything painted and taillight housing powder coated, how can I ground the bulb? Usually the housing grounds the bulb go the bed.

Run a separate wire from one of the housing bolts to a clean spot on the frame.

After doing the same on my 52 F1 and having all sorts of ground issues I solved them all by sandwiching star washers between the bracket and body and then between taillight housing and bracket. Works great.

You’ll just have to try it to see if the washers will dig in enough for a ground.Mine are painted so it worked. Plus you’ll have to have a good ground between the bracket and body. I did mine that way so I wouldn’t have to run extra wires.

If you do not wish to disturb your powder coating then you will have to run another wire in addition to your hot wire. Attach the ground wire to the bulb socket inside the taillight housing...you should be able to solder it in place.
