I would think that the minimum would be in the 16" range....would be a real close fit though.
Here's a pic of Overkill's X with 20" of lift and 44" STS tires w/ fiberglass front fenders......Just FYI I've heard he will be selling his lift, tires, wheels, axles, etc....in the future as a package deal
Hope this helps.

I don't know any shops in the SC area.....hopefully someone else does.
As for the lift. I've gotten measurements off of a few different lift manufacturers 8" lifts and the Fabtech measures in the smallest out of all of them. I've seen a truck that had the 8" Fabtech 3.5" Fabtech combo to fit 39.5" TSLs.....tires fit in there real close.
I've seen an X that had a 12.5" Edge lift and ran 39.5" STS and it had way better clearance for the tires than that 11.5" Fabtech combo. Edge is more money than the other brands, but will ride the best in my opinion. Just something you might want to look into.
Also, if you are going to go with 40" tires I have heard that Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires will be coming out with a 40" Radial towards the end of this year. I like the PJs a lot, and think that they are a good all around tire.
Hope this helps.

Questions: Does the front drive really work on this thing? What kind of ujoint configuration is in there? Is this thing legal on the street? And as cool as it looks...WHY!?

Yes, I think that the front drive does really work.....I know he has a front shaft made by High Angle Drivelines in CA, it might be their 80* CV shaft....
Not sure what the laws are in TX but I think that the only violation he has is that his head lights are too high.
It's a show truck....what he likes to do....and probably helps to get his shop some business.

my buddy, before he passed on (God rest his soul), had an f 250 with the powerstroke, he had 44's and a 38 inch lift, was kind of redicilous but people love it. thats why he did it, thats why anyone who would do this does it. its fun, they look cool and they get to show it off and get business for their shops.
