Yes, they could have come that way - but it would be Regular Two-Tone (AKA tu-tone) - (just the cab) not the Deluxe Tu-Tone (cab and bed)

1966 Paint:

Standard: Single Standard Color
Optional: Two-Tone, Regular - All Cab Models
Two-Tone, Deluxe - Stylesides (Includes Body Side Moldings and Bright-metal Taillight Bezels.

This would be the newer Styleside bed only, not the wrong bed used on the F250 4x4.

I've never seen a tu-tone Flareside in person, have never decoded a Warranty Plate tu-tone COLOR code for a Flareside.

tripleframe would know for sure, since he has the Fleet Salesmans Data books.

My JM (Red/White) code tu-tone on my 1966 F250 4x4 is the Regular tu-tone - this is how it would have looked with that paint scheme. White only on the top of the cab. But, for sure paint it however you feel like. The beauty of paint....

There is a photo in a sales brochure floating around this site that I believe was posted numberdummy over a year ago. It is Raven black with a white roof Flareside truck

I've never posted a sales brochure on any internet site, be it Ford, Studebaker, Packard or Nissan Titan related.

And I've never seen a tu-tone Flareside, either in person or in a sales brochure. IMO: A tu-tone Flareside would look odd, because how could the bed be tu-toned properly?

The Flareside in 1966 was probably only available with the Regular tu-tone, like the 1966 F250 4x4. It was either solid color or Regular tu-tone, but no Deluxe tu-tone available on it.

You could also get a 1966 2WD Styleside bed with Regular (or Deluxe, of course) tu-tone. In that case the bed was solid color except for the lettering on the tailgate and the cab would have looked like my 4x4 pictured above, with just a white top and down around the back window.

Seeing how I have a Flareside I agree it would look odd compared to seeing the deluxe styleside tu tone. Somebody posted the black/white truck pic because the topic of tu tone on a Flareside has been discussed. It was one decal short of a patrol car lol. Many internet pics have been lost due to photobucket.

Here is an older thread that includes pics of brochure trucks in tu tone schemes as posted by member Tripleframe

I've been trying to come up with a color scheme for my stepside as well, the only tu-tone style I found that I thought looked ok was this;

I don't believe they offered the Deluxe Tu-Tone in 1966 on anything but new style Stylesides. Looks like some earlier years did. In 1966 the bedside molding was called out as the dividing line for the Deluxe Tu-Tone, which was only on the Stylesides (not wrong bed).
