Need help deciding if a ford truck will work for towing my trailer
My truck is currently a 2012 Chev 3500HD. The truck and trailer are level when towing and we have a little over 6" of bedrail clearance. We're looking at new trucks so I'm trying to figure out if a Ford 350 DRW/6.7 will work for towing my 5th wheel. Here are the questions I'm looking to find an answer for:
1) how high are the bedsides for a 350 DRW (i.e. from bed floor to top of side) ?
2) how much can I expect the truck to 'squat' when the pin weight is on the truck (my pin weight is approx. 3500# so looking for someone with a heavier pin wt. like me)
3) I have a Hensley Trailer Saver TS3 hitch mounted on standard rails in my current truck. If anyone is using one of these hitches to tow in their 350 DRW can you tell me how far the top of the hitch head is from the top of the bedrails? AND what you're using to mount the hitch to the truck bed.
Appreciate any help and let me know if I've missed anything I need to consider.

For questions 1 and 3 I'd go to a new truck lot and measure for myself to eliminate any chance for confusion. Question 2 is nice to have an estimate but seems so many people airbag it that it doesn't matter too much.
Also might want to measure top of bed rail to the ground to get an idea if your current set up would have the trailer running near level or not. The newer trucks tend to ride a little high.
