Could this be a 144ci. or 170ci. Falcon six cylinder engine? Kind of looks like a FE .. Maybe a FT? I know it is not April 1st. but I feel good today.

I think you are on to something there..... I am getting great mileage. 5 to six runs uses 5 gallons of fuel. Approximately 1/2 mile per gallon. Might be a hybrid electric vehicle.
With a tail wind, it might do 24 seconds in the 1/4 mile. I would bet that nickle that it would do 24 seconds or a mite better.

Why I say 24 seconds, is because back in 1962 my first 1960 Falcon with a 144ci. six actually did 24 seconds if my memory serves me right at Fontana drag strip in Fontana Calif. I can't remember the speed, but I think it was in the 60 mph range.
Back then, they had classes, no ET drags. I had to run against a WWII type Jeep, and we won. Next race they added the Corvair to our class, and we got beat.

Very nice. What I want to know is how you stuffed that monster into a car that probably came with a straight six?

Isn't that the optional 260 V8 for the Falcon Sprint or am I on the wrong year falcon.
Didn't realize the 260 and my Galaxy 406 looked so much alike.

The stock 260 had 164 hp. I don't think mine has that much.
As far as I know the 1960 Falcons came with either the 144ci. six or the "hot" 170 ci. six.

Yes, it looks like the 260 and the 406/427 are identical...

That's a "Ford ****" engine ! Ought to be illegal to post something like this ! Imagine what could happen should someone run across this on their smart phone while cruising the interstate surrounded by Chebby's ............................

I think the years have fogged your memory. I had a 69 Club Wagon Chateau with the "big engine" (302) backed by an HD C4 and 3.73 rear (Dana 60) It would lay down 21 second passes all day at the Golden Triangle Speedway tween Beaumont and Port Arthur Tx in the late 70's. A Falcon woulda had to do better than that !

Do you mean like the 3 two barrel carbs I had on my old 289 in a 68 Mustang

Sorry for the grainy photos, for some reason they didn't transfer properly

Yea, those will do it. Or a Tunnel Wedge 2x4. I'm running a repop 3x2 setup on the 331 in my 77 Comet and love em. 14 years old now and haven't touched them since, other than to rejet after adding spacers under them about a year after setting them up. I ran 2x4's on my 427 back in the 80's. Any multiple carb setup never fails to gather attention. And with electronic ignition, there's none of the tuning issues that were wrongly attributed to the carbs..

It has been to many years for sure, but I am thinking your Chateau would have walked away from my Falcon. Three speed on the column and hold on tight when you hit 65 mph.

Damn, I didn't think anything was slower than that old brick.

I have a original 3x2 setup to go on my 406FE that's planned to go in my 64 Fairlane, was planning to do the front suspension work this spring in preparation for the engine install, but uncle sam had other plans on what I did with the extra funds I used to have.
