Oh, with mileage like that, it's GOTTA be an FE!

I have posted this before, but here is a picture of mine eating up 116 octane race fuel.
I just figured it out, it must be a 144 ci. six. I stalk 360 ci. FE would have made more power.

Love the smell of high octane in the morning, or any other time of the day!

I always liked the fairlane with an FE in it. We had a original 66 Fairlane 390GT. Later I put in a 427. The 64's are lighter and go like a scalded ape with a 406 or 427. You will have a very nice ride when you are done.

Man, I wish I had kept my mother's 1965 Fairlane 500 wagon...

Thanks!
This one is just going to be a cruiser, mainly using up some of my leftover parts over the years, 428 block, 427 crank, Ross flat tops, an old set old Dove Engineering aluminum heads, 406 intake and triple Holley's.
Trans is a Granada overdrive top loader unit so no racing, but I'm installing my old Hurst Ram 4 inline just for the nostalgia look, but it'll be in the standard location with competition plus linkage so we don't have to cut up the tunnel, haven't decided on what gears it'll have but it will have a set of 15" magnum 500 wheels.
I just can't get into the 18" wheel lowered restomod look, to much old school in me.

My very first car was a 64 Fairlane with a 289 I built, loved that little car, this 64 will probable be the last on I build, because I plan to keep it forever!

To bad you don't live in Calif. I just went through our shop and put some things on Craigslist. I found a set of street legal drag radials on 15 inch aluminum wheels that I did not remember I had. They have never been used.
I need to have a huge yard sale. Of course the wheels are five lug Ford wheels.

Getting hard though to find tires that aren't flat on one side for 15's. None are US made now. BFG, Cooper are made by the same factory in Mexico and are crap. Had to go Jap to get tires that are round. Kuhmo and Toyos are two brands

OK you goy my attention! I love those old slots.
I'm still going to run the Magnum 500's but I've got a nephew that just picked up a 68 Mustang coupe like I had, he was talking about trying to find some slots to put on it.
Going to send him a screen shot of these, give me a price and if you don't care see what freight would cost to send them to zip 40144.
Would you have some 4 1/2 or 6" fronts to go with them?

I would think that sending them from Ca. to KY. would be to costly.
Have him find out what the tires would cost him without the wheels. I will sell him the tires and the wheels for the cost of the tires. The tires are new, or like new, I don't remember ever putting them on our Falcon.

Cost via UPS would be around a dollar a pound last I checked. Cheaper sending them one at a time than all in one package.

With or without the tires, I think he mainly wants the wheels, it'll be a time project so by the time it's going those tires will probably be getting hard from age defeating their intended purpose.
Send me a PM on the price and of any other stuff you may be thinking about selling, I have another nephew that's really into FE's, he has a 427 in his 64 Galaxy factory 4 spd car but is working on building a 48? stroker.
He's collected a number of PSE performance parts over the years.
