Started working on the H&H mod today.

 

I so need to do this before I find myself sitting on side of the road somewhere in the GA mountains.....

 

His moms says that you have his good clothes on him and you're in the doghouse now.

 

Another life lesson for him to learn... Sometimes it is safer in the dog house for a few moments.

 

ok so update. runs a little better, idles smoother but still not all there. taking the muffler out and straight piping it to open up the exhaust. i found a guy that comes highly recommended and hge only works on 7.3's. guess i'm gonna have to take it to him.

OK, I admit that is a bit harsh, but it really would be best to get it running right before doing other things. Recognizing H&H is a mod, it still could very well have been related to your problem. I doubt a muffler delete is.

 

the H&H i did because i was dropping the tank so two birds one stone. the muffler delete, PO had the pipe already i just went ahead and did it while working. has a 4" turbo back straight pipe now. checked the icp, its good. i just don't get it. truck sounds good, idles good, just when i go to "get on it" it won't go??? take all advice i can. its a daily driver and i really can't afford a mechanic... tomorrow after work i'm pulling my turbo pipes and cleaning the boots and collars.

also for some reason i can't get a connection on my odb, tried to get oreily's to scan it but wouldn't connect.....ideas? would love some live data from the truck

 

It's rather unlikely that a parts store scan tool will work for your (our) needs but with the recent developments in technology and inexpensive devices out there who knows.

 

So did it used to go and now doesn't, or you just don't feel it goes fast enough?

Other basics to check, air filter good? Turbo not dusted and no excessive blowby? Soot stains at the baby's but on top of the up pipes or firewall? Tried disconnecting either the MAP or ICP sensor and going for a spin to see if there's any difference? Any smoke out the tailpipe when you floor it? If so, what color?

 

ok i think i have figured out my problem. my ebpv is stuck. i unplugged the sensor and it ran better. came back to the house and got the valve to turn a tiny bit and it was running waaay better. so tomorrow i will be removing turbo and attempt to clean it out. if i can't clean it i'll order the delete kit. I live in northern illinois so i think i might want to try a keep it if i can, thoughts?

If you can get it to fully open, I'm in northern michigan and mine has been unplugged for^^^^^^^^^^^years and I don't miss it one bit (Neither do the neighbors).

ok cool. i'm just gonna either order the delete kit or take it to a machine shop to be plugged if it can't be cleaned to work. I need to pick up my trailer so i need to get it fixed sooner then later lol

 

ok so there's new developments. icp is good. ebpv is operational and moves but the truck drove much better with ebpv(both locations, sensor and turbo) and map sensor unhooked with overdrive off??? i'm so confused lol. Now my truck obd won't connected to a scanner. Is my cpu bad and the root of all my problems??? Wish I could take it to a mechanic but I'm a dirty construction worker so I'm broke!! lol oh, I also did the oil cap test for blow back, that's good. cleaned all the inner cooler tubes and boots.
