I get 15 if the standard algebraic Order of Operations still holds in this society.
Aunt Sally would approve.

I proudly ‘failed’ this one for 30 mins until I finally saw one shock absorber (and not 2) in the final equation. Marc and I represent the masses.
Does society teach ‘old math’ anymore?
10+(1*5)=15.

Remember:
Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Addition
Subtraction
(in that order)
Gotta' also remember to do the operations from left to right if it could make a difference.

I didn’t pay attention in math/algebra but that makes no sense to me.
Not disputing you guys at all just applying my shade tree sense (which I guess the mathematicians don’t apply).
Reading from left to right 5+1x10. Why are there inferred parenthesis around 1x10? I’m really asking out curiosity.
Guess I should have paid attention.
Ok I found it.

Order of operations is everything in math.
However, writing equations in that manner is in extremely poor taste, and they have only done that to catch us, and maybe make us think, or look things up. In practical math, use parenthesis to avoid unnecessary errors.
The equation should have been as Sean wrote. 10+(1*5)=15
Now you just have to remember to always solve parenthesis first, and if there are parenthesis inside parenthesis, solve from the inside out.
