58 axle - dip or no dip?

I bought the Power rack and pinion kit from Western Chassis/Performance Online and they gave me a kit for a straight front axle but mine has the dip in the center. They are trying to tell me that mine should have had a straight axle and that the dip is the exception for trucks that used older axles. I believe they are backwards and that the 58 normally had the dip and if it had a straight axle it was using earlier version. Can anyone confirm or deny this and maybe give me some kind of Ford OEM diagram? They sold me the wrong part and now I have to pay shipping to get the right part. Horrible customer service.
