The forgotten truck....Truck Identification

I was doing some yardwork at my lodge over the weekend and the neighboring house was cleaning up his property in preparation of its pending sale. He was explaining to me about this old truck in the back that needs to be sold. It was his uncles before he passed. Supposedly it has been sitting back there since this gentleman was a kid, he’s in his 40’s now. Truck seemed real straight despite its “Patina” and I couldnt locate any rust that wasn’t surface. The doors were locked so I couldnt get to a door plate but he says they know where the keys and the title are.

He said he would speak to his Aunt about a price and to get a little more history on the truck. I left him my number and am currently waiting to hear back from him. Any help on a year identification or anything else helpful would be greatly appreciated. The oldest ford truck I have had has been a Dentside so I’m a little out of my depth here. Thanks!

Yep, it's a '66.
Nice find. Rear hubcap and radio appear to be the only things not original.

i do not think the canopy is original stock either . The inside of the box might be mint because of it though

Ford didn't offer a Camper Shell until 1973, and this isn't it...as it was fiberglass and not much higher than the cab.

The so-called "hubcap" on the left rear appears to be a 1955 or 1956 Chevy wheel cover.

+2 on that. My '65 LB has a perfectly undented bed due to the period correct small camper that was on it.

Well finally heard back. They want to keep it in the family which is totally understandable. I offered to help them transport it to their new place if they needed assistance.
