1963 horn rebuild or replace?
After testing my horn for power, I realize it must be worn out. Can the horn on a 63 E-100 be rebuilt?
I looked for a replacement but haven’t found one for the E-100, only F-100.
The one from Macs and Dennis Carpenter doesn’t seem to be the right one.
Anyone have information?
Mine is labeled LO

Are you sure? Maybe. Try this first. They typically have a current adjustment screw. The horn loudness is adjustable, set to a certain specification. The way you do that is by placing an ammeter in series with the horn and battery and measuring the amperes while the horn sounds, adjusting the screw up or down as required. Horns draw quite a bit of juice, maybe 10 amps. Wouldn't think they need much adjustment unless someone has messed with it before, but ya never know. The elements sometimes freeze up or sieze and will respond to a healthy shot of WD40 or PB Blaster and a few love taps. Can't hurt anything.
