Stolen, Totaled, and valued.... 316,488 miles

I am absolutely beside myself. My wonderful Ex - is gone. Sitting in the salvage yard. I said good bye to her today, for the last time.

No one would believe the story if I told it, but what I will say is, a colleague lost her mind when we pulled up to a stop that we were going to. She asked if I minded if she stayed in the Ex because she didnt feel well. I came out to find that she drove off with my beauty, ran a red light hit a Infiniti SUV a county over. I was able to track her using Find my Iphone with the police, giving the dispatcher exact location via intersections until the blue dot representing my phone stopped.... which is when she ran the red light.

At her Bond hearing, she said she "feared her life" because we went to the place with all the guns, and I had used my waze app, "and thats where all the cops are, the app shows you where they all are, and if I called 911, no one would come to help me"

pills were found in her purse....

They valued it at 3500 due to rust, etc. I need to send receipts for the rear end rebuild and such, maybe ill get to 4000.00

Wow, that's really something! Least you knew where it ended up at. Makes me think about putting a kill switch in mine, or make sure I always take the keys with me when I get out, no matter who is still in the truck!

Oh my heck!

I wonder if the pills were lithium, zoloft, or some other antipsychotic drug.

Sorry to hear this bud.

Tell the insurance company to find you a comparable one for sale at the price they are offering you at a reputable dealer. Ended up getting a family member significantly more than the insurance wanted to pay when they were unable to locate a comparable one.

X2 on the comparison value....gather as many for sale ads as you can with comparable specs and mileage. The other thing that's helped me in the past has been to hold out signing the deal until they give you what you want. At around 30 days, they get squirrely and should start talking some real numbers.

Sorry to hear something like this happening...glad you're OK. The X CAN be replaced...

I'd be heartbroken! So sorry for your loss. Personally, when I leave mine, I ALWAYS take the keys. Good sound advice!

I wish you luck getting the insurance to pay "fair market value"....

I agree with the above advice. They never cut you any slack on the insurance premiums and now they're looking to get out cheap. When you start threatening to hire an attorney and sue them, they should begin to see reason. Sorry about your Ex...that really stinks.

That sucks man.

I agree with everyone above. The insurance banks on the fact that you just want to get it over with and will settle for much less than what they owe you. Insurance companies are looking out for the insurance companies. The only time they are looking out for you is if you are a shareholder...

I don't know that they are that far off. A quick check of CL local to me has a 2000 with 270K for $3500 and an '01 with 200K for $4500. If you can get them up to $4000, it's probably fair.

wow. guessing V-10? Nobody touches my rigs but wife and I. I have trust issues lol

a hair south of you down here in CT. I'm surprised they offered up $3,500 without a fight. At those miles I would have guessed less. My beast is a 2000 with 93k and I doubt I'd be able to get $5k private party sale. Not alot of rust either compared to some I've seen. I carry Full Coverage on her just in case though.

Check out CL and Facebook "CT Rednecks" group. There are a few decent looking Excursions for not bad prices. Even a 7.3 for about $6k last I looked.
