Joseph just up the road is a great place. Eagle Cap Wilderness, Wallowa Lake. Have a number of friends up in that area and have ridden horses all over, including down into Hells Canyon. Now there is an adventure that won't put you in the path of any nearby neighbors!

 

We are planning to retire around here or Idaho......

 

If you can put up with Wallowa County winters, I can't think of a prettier place with friendlier people. A friend and former partner has retired to Baker City.

 

We have family living in Enterprise and would live out of the city limits wherever we end up. We come from the mountains so winter isn't a big deal to us, we kinda like snow. It's a battle...the wife wants to be close (Oregon) and I want more for my money (Idaho). We'll see what the outcome is when we get there.....LOL
