Secondary Fuel tank

There wouldn't happen to be any external fuel tanks that might be a direct drop in for a 64 F-250 4x2? I searched on the internet but only found replacements for the cab tank.

The only fuel tank factory installed in 1961/66 pickups was the 18 gallon in-cab tank (C1TZ-9002-K).

Interesting how both the 1966 Salesmens Facts Book as well as the 1966 F100-F350 Operators (owners) manual lists it as 19.5 gallons.

But, one lucky person could contact Michael Jones at Obsolete Reliable in GA and see if he has and how much he wants for the

C5TZ-9002-A - 17 gallon capacity (mounted left side - inside frame)

http://www.rearcounter.com/C5TZ-9002...ts1528566.html

Looks like there are separate tank straps (21C-9068) at least to go along with it.

65/69 F100/350 (84,85) - so not originally installed in pickups but, what, "chassis windshield" or "cowl"? Also known as Closed Drive Away (includes Windshield Frame) and Open Drive Away (less Windshield Frame) from the MPC.

I just don't need the extra capacity and I don't mind the in-cab tank myself.

For 1964 they did make a 17 gallon as well for the non-cab models, but of course an earlier part number.

C1TZ-9002-F

http://www.rearcounter.com/C1TZ-9002-F-parts1528565.html

Shows 2 in stock, but description says NOS 19.5 gallon in-cab fuel tank so not sure what he might have here.

What we have here, is failure to communicate. Rearcounter says this is an in-cab fuel tank, but it ain't.

C1TZ-9002-F (replaced B5C-9002-A) .. 17 Gallon Fuel Tank / Obsolete

This tank was used on 1955/64 F100/350 Open Drive-Away Chassis & Cowl (body style 84) and Cowl and Windshield (body style 85) models. Also 1955/60 F100 Panels & 1955/64 P100/500.

Pic: Do you see a cab on body styles 84 & 85? No, because there's no such thing on these trucks. Since there's no cab, this fuel tank mounts on the left frame rail.

I'm fairly sure any description on rearcounter.com is something the parts vendor typed in when they listed the part. I'll send Michael a message and see what it is. Either he has the wrong part number in there or the wrong description, it would seem to me.

OK, message sent. I'll update tomorrow when I hear back from him, unless he checks tonight.
