I have a 1995 f150 reg cab that I've been restoring on and off for the past 7 years. I bought a new light to replace the domelight and for life of me I cannot remember which color wire is the ground wire? Anyone have the answer?
Thanks..... Pat
I have a white wire and black wire from the light. Do I hook the white up to the black wl light blue stripe or to the green w/ yellow stripe? And thanks again.
If you have a test light, you can check which one is the hot wire or ground wire by connecting the test light clip lead to either ground or a positive terminal respectively. Best and fool proof way to verify which is which.
If that is the case put ring terminals on the wires coming off your light. The black wire is ground, and is screwed into the roof. Screw the other one into either of the other two screw holes for the stock light in the roof. Close the doors, and rotate the headlight switch clockwise. If the light is on unscrew the white wire, and screw it into the other screw hole. Open the door, or rotate the headlight switch counterclockwise, and the light should come on.
I can't help you with actually mounting the light to the roof. The electrical connections are also the mounting points for the stock light.
