1997 460 rebuild clearances and tolerances?
Hey guys, I am rebuilding a 460 out of a ‘97 F-250 and have just started tearing the engine apart. I bought a rebuild manual which is pretty helpful, but it says to refer to the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances and clearances when it comes to fastener torque specs and bearing clearance. Can anyone tell me or give me a link to all of the fastener torque specs and bearing clearance/tolerances for a stock rebuild? I have looked and looked and can’t find anything for this. Thanks again!

I try to keep the rods around .002 - .0025 and mains .0026 - .003. but you can get away with straying a little bit depending on the application, opinions will vary. Get a dial bore gauge and mic's that read in .0001 and make sure it doesn't have anymore than .0002 taper across the bearing face. Torque all the rods and mains without the bearings first and make sure their bores are within .0002 no more than .0003 and always chamfer the oil holes in the crank.
