Does your truck regen down to 0%?
When I bought my truck a month ago I turned on the DPF % gauge with forscan. The first couple times it would regen, it would get to about 30-35% and then end its regen cycle and start filling up again. Since then I have been doing a lot of long hot heavy towing with it. Next regen cycle it got down to 25%. Next one it got down to 20%, and then today it regened again and finally got all the way to 0%. My guess is that previous owner did a lot of town driving with it, and it just took a couple thousand miles of actually working it like a truck to get the filter back down to 0%. Anyone else ever seen this happen? I just assumed that every time it hit a regen cycle it would go to 0% but I guess I was wrong. I have been averaging about 250 miles between cycles.

It's random how it starts, stops and what percentage it ends up being. I have had a regen for 3 miles and it ended at 0% and regened for 10 miles and ended on 35%. When it regents on the highway it takes forever (15+ miles) to burn off. This last one I was in regen for 3 miles and left the truck running after I parked as I always do when I tow heavy to let it cool a bit. I got back in and it said 0%.

Dang. A full regen to 0% at idle. Interesting. As the truck ages and the dpf wears out(even in the manul for these trucks it says that the DPF will need to be replaced once in a while) I wonder if it will still show regen down to 0% or if it will just stop efficiently cleaning. I guess I would like to know exactly what happened with some folks failures and what life spans they are seeing from these. Its insane that I can wipe my finger on the inside of my tail pipe and its still silver and clean like it was brand new.

What I have seen is that if I am still driving highway speeds or towing, it will got to 0. 99% to 0% takes about 30-40 highway miles.
If it is in regen and I'm in city driving or slow driving, it does not go to 0, stops around 30% or so.
Mine goes 500 miles between regions typically unless I'm towing. I don't idle much, mostly highway. I also use Enerburn, before Enerburn, it would regen at about 350 miles.
I think there is a way to do a force regen at idle using forscan but not sure. I don't have the need to do it so I just let it do it's own thing.

If I'm on the highway, mine will regen to 0% in about 15 miles. If it's doing a regen and I have reached my destination then I'll let it idle for a while. In those cases, it will often go from 50% (when I put it in Park) to 20% when I shut it off.
I'm going to try Enerburn. It seems like just starting the engine will increment the DPF by 5%.

Enerburn. I wonder how that compares to PM22. I have run PM22 in every tank since buying the truck so far, but I think I am going to try no additive to see if there is any noticeable difference on this next tank. Anyone know of a more scientifically bases thread testing cetane or lube boosters? I just fail to see how adding 1.5 oz of something to 45 gallons of fuel can do much of anything, and I dont trust the "seat of the pants" results since as buyers, we are all desirous to believe in what we paid good money for. That being said, the proof is in the pudding, and if there is DATA out there, I will be religious about using an additive.

The main thread that discusses Enerburn can be found here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-enerburn.html
My understanding is that Enerburn is NOT a cetane booster and you can use PM22 along with it.
