No need to act like Chicken Little and claim the sky is falling. Fairly old news around here.

And yes, Ford did get a "gubmint bailout". They all did.

Ford's Bailout. Although Ford did not receive TARP funds, it did receive government loans. These were critical because banks were not lending during the financial crisis. It requested a $9 billion line-of-credit from the government.

There is roughly 83 DOH (days on hand) at the moment ... no reason to panic.

No, they didn't. So tired of people talking about crap that they don't understand.

PRIOR to the big SHTF situation, Ford put up all of its assets, including the blue oval logo, to procure LOANS to restructure. This was not and is not a bailout. When YOU get a mortgage to buy a house or a loan to buy a truck, do you say you got a "bailout"? No, you don't.

GM and Chrysler FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY PROTECTION. They SCREWED all of their investors and all of the suppliers. Very few got anything out of the BK.
GM got $51B in US taxpayer money. In the end, the taxpayers only got $39.7B back from the sale of the stock and GM payments. The taxpayers LOST $11.3 billion.
GMAC got $17.2B in US taxpayer money. When the government sold that stock, the taxpayers actually made $2.4B in profit.
Chrysler got $12.5B in US taxpayer money. In the end, taxpayers only got back $11.2B. The taxpayers lost another $1.3 billion.
Ford took ZERO dollars as part of the "gubmint bailout". FACT.

Ford Motor Company didn't need any funds since it had already cut costs. But it asked to be included (the "line of credit") so it wouldn't suffer by competing with subsidized companies -- but they were in such good shape, they didn't need it, despite the government subsidizing their competitors.

When all was said and done, taxpayers lost $12.6 billion on GM and Chrysler. They lost NOTHING on Ford. Zero.

Just for the record, if Ford does run dry on F150s, I would offer my gently used 8500 mile 4x4 SCAB for just $10,000 over the original sticker. It's only right to help someone in dire need of a pickup.

SNIP.
You already knew, before the fire? Muh conspiracy theory.
Hey, are you in Round Rock, Alvin, Celina, or Iola?

Anyway, prices will ratchet up, most likely. If you're not in the market for an F-150, just arrow down to the next thread.

Fortunately, I'm prepared for the day the Ford dealership runs out of F-150 and massive riots erupts across the country. I have the survival kit and enough ammo to last 6 months. It's going to be anarchy when it hits the fan.

But Ford said they may resume production next week so we'll see.

I don't expect to see generous $10k off discounts from the MSRP when supply gets tight though...

As it stands right now, DTP is slated to start back up in about 12 hours. They will be running C-Crew (only). C-Crew works the AM shift on FRI/SAT and the afternoon shift on SUN/MON.

KTP (Super Duty) is slated to start back up on MON running one shift.
