Ford is discontinuing Sync Services completely by Aug 1st 2018. I have never seen a use for it and I don't know anyone that actually used it.

The vehicle health report was kinda of pain to get and it really didn't tell me anything I didn't know

But what are we going to miss from the sync services? Hmmm

It was a freeby and it’s being discontinued. They don’t owe it to anyone.

I'll miss the vehicle health report since I used to run it just to keep an eye on the oil percentage since Ford isn't smart enough to put the % left on the dash like Chebby does.

You can do that with Forscan I do believe.

Microsoft was the one who engineered Sync 2. Not sure who is behind Sync 3. Guess the contract with Microsoft ran out or fell out of love....lol

My FordPass is so flaky that I won't miss it. I got the vehicle health report to work once and FordPass twice. FordPass still thinks my truck has around 3,000 miles.

RIM (Blackberry) provided the OS for Sync 3 - as I recall.

I think Sync Services would allow you to call in for turn-by-turn directions if your truck did not have navigation. I recall using it once on my 2015 Lariat up near the Canadian border. You'd speak to a rep and then the directions would download to your screen, even without Nav. It was cumbersome to use, but it worked the one time I used it on that truck.

The Sync 3 system is OK with me. The graphics are not flashy by any stretch, but the system works reasonably well to touch and voice.

The email I received from Ford says the complimentary Vehicle Health Reports for owners of 2008-2016 Model year Ford SYNC-equipped vehicles is being discontinued.
The owner.ford.com website indicates I (and others) will continue to receive the Vehicle Health Report on our 2017 and newer SYNC 3 equipped trucks.

Getting the oil percentage was the one useful thing from the vehicle health report. Why could they not put it on the dash in the screen like everyone else does.

I suspect that Ford is moving toward integrating their vehicles more closely with the dealers. It won't be long before our trucks will be notifying us that an appointment for service has already been made!
