AOD Transmission Questions .....
Question ......... my transmission is a build from ATK..... I am looking for a transmission line kit or what I need to hose this correctly including the fittings. It is an AOD (what I ordered) and the paperwork I got with it and it does show the gear ratio for all 4 gears and according to Ford the pan indicates it is the AOD I ordered ...... it was built to match my engine, or that’s what I was told. What I do know is I took a 1/2” threaded (male) end of a flare fitting and it will screw into the outlets on the transmission...... and I can screw a 3/8” (male) end of a flare fitting into the radiator. With everything I am reading on here is that NPT is incorrect. Can someone point me in the right direction please and does anyone know if there is a complete kit for this ????

If you attempt to screw an NPT fitting into your AOD you will crack the case...the threaded hole in the case is straight, not angled like NPT. I run braided stainless hoses on my AOD installs. There are sources on ebay that sell the correct AN fittings that will allow you to connect AN lines instead of flared lines. I am sure you can fins the correct fitting to run the flare lines as well, ATK should sell them.
Here is a pic of the fittings...you can see that the threaded sides are parallel not angled
