Timing Mod '92 4.0L'

I have a coworker that told me that you can place a resistor in the air temp sensor and pick up 15 HP. He said it fools the engine into thinking the air is colder then it is and advances the fuel & timming. Can anyone shed light on this? True or False?

This is true, whether you gain 15 horses or not is more than likley false. It makes the engine deliver more fuel, or basically wastes gas. heres a web site of somthing similar to the idea. www.nextlevelracing.com There is a web page that tells you how to do it with a resistor, which is basically the 0.99$ way of doing it. http://www.rogueperformance.com/IntakeAir.html - thats the site for you
