power seat won't go forward much

I just got a 2000 Mountaineer with 6 way sport bucket seats. The passenger side seat won't go forward all the way. All other adjustments are working normally. I read on the forum that the cause is because of interference with a seat belt part. Sure enough, I can see the seat belt buckle attaches to a rail, and when the seat slides forward and backwards, the rail actually wobbles and binds up. Can I fix this myself? I am very concerned about the safety as my wife often sits in that seat. The bolt that holds the buckle doesn't appear loose, but the fact that the whole rail is loose worries me. Thanks.

Andy
