requesting advice on a fix for my truck
Hi all, I have a 2001 Ranger Edge I bought new. I love this truck and the engine, 4.0. The truck only has 143K, runs great, no leaks. The problem I have is the metal piece on the outside of the window that has a black coating on it. Mine has apparently dried out and has peeled off.
I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and how they recovered this metal area. As I peeled off the remaining coating it felt like a rubberized product. rather than just painted substance. I would appreciate if anyone can direct me to the original product so I can recover this area. If just repainting the area is the best solution, I would like to know the best paint to use for durability. Thanks to all that respond with some helpful advice.

I think ive seen what you are talking about. Some folks have peeled the rubber off and repainted.
You might look them up at your local ford dealer and consider replacing them with factory new pieces. Thats usually a little pricey, BUT if your truck is in great condition otherwise and you like it, the factory parts wont be much in the overall enjoyment of the vehicle!
