39 Wide 5 wheels

Does anyone on here have any experience with wide 5 Ford Rims? What may be done to convert them to a more available after market wheel size. I have four on my truck, but don't have a back-up, and they are hard to find. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information.

Wide Five

I know adapters are available to go from 5 on 5 1/2 to wide five but not sure of wide five the other way. I do have a spare wide five rim but shipping might be an issue depending how far you are from SoCal. I needed one for a spare for my p/u and had to buy 3 (the guy wouldn't sell just one). Anyway I sold one at a swap meet but still have one. PM if you're interested.

Welcome to FTE! You can install drums from '40-'48 car or '40-'47 pickup to use the smaller pattern.

Tom,
I've been trying to sell this wheel for at least a year and today a guy stopped by to buy an 8ba block I had for sale and he bought the wheel as well. Sorry. Wide five wheels do show up at meets pretty often. It might help to list the general area where you are to help in your search for a wheel.

I never had any trouble finding them but have to go through quite a few to find any real good ones. Wemt though 5 to get 2 decent ones for the front of the 36
