Emergency Switch -numberdummy C6TZ-13A350-A

While pulling out my emergency warning switch from the box of parts i got with the truck, I noticed one of the prongs was severely bent. When i tried to straighten it, it broke.

I dont think this can be repaired, right?

I will start to look for another.

Numberdummy, i was reading a thread earlier where you explained exactly which way this switch and the bracket that holds it in is to be installed. It was interesting to read, but i did not save it. Any chance you can pull it up again. It was quite specific in which way it faced.

C6TZ-13A350-A ..

Thanks

If you can't find one, you may be able to soldier a pigtail to the terminal.Need to keep it cool while doing it though.

Thanks for the pictures. I have the cd and was able to pull that up. What i really wanted was this. I finally found it. Thanks again

From a previous numberdummy post:
The mounting bracket (C3TZ-15B597-A [same 1963/65]) retains both the switch and the flasher to the dash. Without it, these parts would be as worthless as teats on a mule, because there would be no way to install them.

The whole enchilada is shown here in an exploded view: 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog / Illustration Section 145.2, Page 1.

You will need to view this pic. Ask FTE member Old Harley to scan and post it, as he has this catalog on a CD. You can buy your own CD catalog from hipoparts.com for $21.95, a roaring bargain.

You will see that you have to drill a hole in the dash to the left of the switch to install the lamp. The switches bezel has threads on its backside, threads off/on the bracket.

Remove the ****, unscrew the bezel. The bracket butts up to the dash, the open section points towards the floor. Once the bracket is butted up, screw the bezel back on, then reinstall the ****.

The 4 way switch **** is the same as the wiper switch **** (C1TF-17513-A). The **** has a #8 -30 headless set screw that retains it in place on the shaft.

Hold the lamp socket with one hand, push the spring loaded bezel forward with the other, then while holding it, twist the bezel off by a 1/4 turn from the socket.

The bezel fits on the outside of the dash, the spring loaded socket w/wiring behind the dash.

See that white piece of tape looped over the wire? That has a Ford ID number printed on it. The first 3 digits of its prefix should begin with C5T if this setup is for a 1965.

Ben, was your truck a 1966? Serial number before or after 858,001? Mine uses a bit different part number for the bracket. Mine is after 858,001.

Chad,

Mine is also after Serial number 858,001. My bracket is the same as yours. From the parts cd, i figured out i needed C6TZ-13A350-A for the switch. Do you think i am wrong?

Ben, you do have that part number correct for the switch used After the 858,001 serial. (May of 1966)

I just chimed in with a slight correction on which bracket part number was used After the 858,001 serial. You can see in my prior picture how the emergency flasher sits in the bracket and can butt up against the switch. The bracket in the ND prior post that you referenced is the correct number Before the 858,001 serial.

Got it.

I refereneced ND prior post because i was looking at this one sentence:

" The bracket butts up to the dash, the open section points towards the floor. Once the bracket is butted up, screw the bezel back on, then reinstall the ****."
