New(to me) 2001 F350
I'm an existing forum member. I'm in the OBS powerstroke forum more because I have a 97 F250 7.3. Today, I bought a 2001 F350 CCSB Auto 4x4 with 198K miles. Mostly stock mechanically. Just a tuner and 4" MBRP exhaust all the way.
My first question is if anybody can guess in the realm of what size lift my truck has? I'm guessing in the neighborhood of 2-4". It has aftermarket wheels and tires. Size is 285/75 R16 Cooper's. There is a lot of room in the wheel well in my opinion and the guy I bought it from said it was lifted but didn't know how much. I think it might have an add a leaf. It currently has new Rancho 9000's on all 4 corners, and airbags in the rear. See the picture I posted for reference. There is approximately 5-6" of space between the wheel well on the front tire and it looks like slightly more in the rear.
I do know the biggest size tire they make for a 16" wheel is 315 and that's what I have on my 97 F250 and they seem a tad bit on the small side with the 6" lift I have on it. I would be fine with using that size as long as it won't rub really bad.
My next question is 3/4 window switches when pressed, they work in the opposite direction. So when you press up, they go down and vice versa. The driver side works normal. All 4 go up and down pretty quickly I think so no issue there. Wondering if they could have been fliped or something.
That's all I have for right now. Passed the oil cap test, new front end, new water pump, new belt, and a bunch of other new parts. The transmission was replaced at 140K miles and I saw proof of that. So it doesn't even have 60k miles on it. It shifts better than any other truck I've ever driven and it rides nice (for a 1 ton).

The rear block looks stock to my casual eye. Also noticed the bags.
Does the rear drop if you air down the bags? They might be giving the rear some lift.
My '03 F-350 has a stock rear, and a front leveling kit (BDS). I think the front lift is 2-1/2".
Pics are in the thread in my signature, post 163 has a good side shot of the front wheel well. I'm running 245/70R19.5 rubber. But that does not change the hub/axle position relative to the frame.
On edit: Also see you have a rear sway bar, so you probably have the camper package, which includes the stiffest rear springs.

Hold up. You got that truck for free?! I will try to go through some more of it later but wow, what I did read was everybody basically saying you were going to get your kidneys stolen.
I would like to have 315's on my truck. I am unsure if they will fit on here, so I may have to but a small lift to fit them. I would prefer to do add a leaf or something instead of having massive blocks in the rear.
But I will need new tires soon as they have decent tread, but are cracking and the Arizona summer is not nice to tires here.

LOL, still have my kidneys, and I did pay a buck for the truck with a legal bill of sale. It's cost me a bit more than that since then, all repair details are in the thread.
Someone will pop in with tire size suggestions. What sizes rub and which ones don't. Some don't mind a bit of rubbing. I went down in size as I did not like the tires rubbing on the spring packs. And if they rub there, no amount of added leaves will change it.

Appears to be that the front has an additional 2-3” of lift. Hard to exactly judge by the pic but when comparing that pic to what the leafs on my 2004 super duty looks like, it lioks to be about 2-3” more than mine.
And you can buy much larger tires for a 16” rim than a 315. Heck, you can buy 44” tires that’ll fit a 16” rim...

I have on '01 parts truck in the garage and my DD is an E99 F-250 that came with a 6" lift on it. You have extra on there but I can't tell you exactly how much sitting here. My front stack has two springs (I think) and it's an 'X' code spring as per the label on the driver's side door jam, you can check yours. The '01 had a frying pan handle on the block on the back axle and it was not double stacked on anything. I can measure that tomorrow and snap a picture and measure my front springs for you. I'll bet that you can't hold a cup of coffee and move that truck down the road without taking a coffee shower.
