My 2013 still have the original batteries in it. I know my time is limited.

I've been waiting for at least 3 years for that dreaded solenoid click of battery death after not so good luck with Motorcraft battery deaths in past Ford F series trucks and various cars. $2-300 for a pair of new ones will not help the budget but neither does a trip to the grocery store (I am looking as these just aren't going to last much longer)

My 2015 Motorcraft batterys still starting great but gassing/leaking and making a mess. I've never had a Motorcraft battery fail on me but everyone has started gassing/leaking by year four. Just changed them out for 850 Interstates for 95 bucks at Costco.

Well that dreaded click of death happened yesterday. $300 bucks later two new Motorcraft BXT-65 batteries are residing under the hood of my truck. I doubt that these will last 9 years (106 months) but who knows

Don't wait for the click! Buy a battery hygrometer and periodically test each cell in the battery. I used one on my RV trailer batteries to confirm that one cell was bad.

Camper batteries - another 2-300 bucks each on the 2019 springtime horizon. Then there is that $$$ Odyssey in my '31 street rod. These are sealed units so a hydrometer wont work though a load or multimeter test will

Everytime I go to this thread I tremble - it's tick tick tick, it's sorta like the Langoliers movie, I can feel them coming - Dave's 2011 click of death is creeping closer to 2013

I noticed some corrosion on one battery connection which is one sign of impending battery death. Although I fully charged them a few days ago, the hydrometer and voltmeter said that the grim reaper is coming soon. Eight years and two months and I might have to replace them already.

"Already" hahaha I wish mine had lasted that long. I got a hair under 4 years out of mine.

Every time I have the oil changed they do a battery load test on my batteries. 4 years and all is well. No leaking.

Ford uses the Battery/Gylcol Antifreeze tester as a more accurate reading of the battery specific gravity. More accurate than the ***** floating.

Can also be used to test the antifreeze.

Can buy cheaper model for $15.00 or less.

I went out and did not even get a click Saturday morning. And I had just driven it the day before and did not notice any issues. Batteries, when removed were swelled and also had some leaking. Original Motorcrafts, would have been 4 years in May. And I had just had PM done less than 90 days ago.

Just replaced both on my 2015 after 3.5 years and 85000km. It was -35c that morning and it just clicked once and didn't even turn over. Truck was plugged in for 12hrs. Replaced with two new 850cca's and it started right up. The Crappy motorcraft's had been leaking since the first year of service. Terminals had some corrosion on them when I swapped out. I had noticed prior to the failure that it sounded like it was cranking over slightly slower but it was cold out at the time and the truck sat for 3 or 4 days at a time this winter.

Ford would have replaced your batteries under the 3/36 warranty. If your batteries are leaking they are JUNK. it's that simple and Ford will replace them. Cold weather will kill any battery. I remember when I was a kid in Iowa it would be so cold that the motor woildn't turn over ether. Higher CCA will overcome the cold but after a few years of this the cold will kill them also.

Swollen batteries may be a condition of overcharging. You need to have the alternator checked to make sure it isn't overcharging them.I have had good luck with Motorcraft batteries as a whole. I did replace one when my truck was a year old because the hold down was corroded. the battery didn't look like it was leaking but the corrosion came from somewhere
