Battery life in the 6.7 ?

I'm with you Traveling - 2013 SD and still no issues, probably just gave myself the kiss of death - I have the perimeter alert system which turns itself off if the truck hasn't been started in 48 hours because of the power it uses - thinking I'm on borrowed time. Will then hit the "what battery" thread this summer.

I think a large part of battery life is where you live. When I had my 2011 I replaced the batteries twice in 6 years. Here in Vegas it is the summer that kills the batteries vs the winter most places. The extreme heat just cooks them. 2 to 3 years and replace them when you get the first sign they are going bad.
Who wants to be stranded because they put off some thing as simple as changing out two batteries. I was going to go AGM but Costco Interstate won over not only for price but because they are by my house.

My third set are the Interstate MTP-65's. I'll see how long these make it. I had anticipated the Diehard Platinum AGM's to last longer than four years so I decided against the higher cost of the AGM's when I purchased these in November.

I had scoped out the Odyssey PC1750T as the replacement batteries for when the warranty on the OEM batteries is over. But it looks like Odyssey's warranty has changed. I thought they had a 5 year warranty but I'm seeing it as a 3 year warranty now. I had one replaced under warranty on my prior truck. It was close to the 5 year limit and replaced at no cost. With the shorter warranty I may not go with Odyssey. They tend to be a lot more expensive than other non-AGM batteries.

Factory battery life
apparently the stock Motorcraft are susceptible (prone?) to leaking acid. My truck is a 32 months old 2015 6.7L that had recently been serviced at the dealership and no battery issues were noted. Now both have somehow leaked acid and destroyed themselves, the harness, and the brackets. Pretty upset that a defect like this in less than 3 years isn’t considered a warranty issue.

My factory batteries failed one month out of warranty, and I had told the dealer they were going bad two months prior, but they would not replace them. I just bought new ones from auto zone. They talked me into some new silver topped batteries, supposedly they stand up to heat and vibration better I forget the name of them, but they failed after a couple of weeks so I replaced them with their best standard battery. Now 11 months later they are getting weak again, but they are still under warranty so I will just replace them with the same. after the warranty expires on them I will try to find better ones, maybe do some research. I do sit in traffic a lot in the louisiana summers so I am sure heat is a factor, and I do have a large 12 volt air compressor and air tank on board, and run battery chargers for my tools a lot. They do seem to fail in the cold weather though. I would appreciate any input on heavy duty batteries that someone may have experience with, thanks.

I just replaced my batteries in my 2004 Dodge 2500 5.9L. I had Interstate batteries from the previous owner (my father-in-law) and the date on them was from 2009. Can't complain for that amount of longevity. I think what killed them was the truck wasn't driven for a few months over winter.
